PATRIZIA CERRONI began studying dance at the age of 6. She attended the National Dance Academy where she took courses in both classical ballet (Russian, French, E
nglish) and modern dance (German and American Schools) with teachers of different nationalities including: Cebron, Prebil, Trailine, Osins, Lichine, Corelli, Krassovska and Viroubova. In New York she attended classes taught by Lang
and Cunningham. However, Patrizia considers her best teacher to be Jean Cebron as it was he who most inspired her to develop her technique of movement and its own language. At the age of 16 she began to dance classical roles professionally and took part in a television programme with Carla Fracci. In 1973 she contributed as choreographer to the founding of "Theatre Dance" and, thanks to this experience, learned M.Graham's technique. In 1974 she founded her own Dance Company “ I Danzatori Scalzi”.
A long stay in India brought a fundamental evolution in her style: to her American modern dance experience, more intellectual and abstract she added Indian musicality and spirituality.
